Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In various fields such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, and data analysis, algorithms optimization plays a crucial role in solving complex problems and making informed decisions. In this case, asymmetric and symmetric research on algorithms optimization has emerged as a crucial area of study in the fields of computer science and engineering. Asymmetric algorithms optimization focuses on addressing problems that exhibit asymmetric properties, such as applications in network communication, data mining, and image processing. In comparison with asymmetric algorithms, symmetric algorithms optimization aims to tackle problems that possess symmetric properties, including optimization algorithms, machine learning, and pattern recognition. The advancements in asymmetric and symmetric study of algorithms optimization have significant implications in various domains. The study of asymmetric and symmetric algorithms optimization aims to develop innovative techniques and methodologies to optimize the performance and efficiency of algorithms in different application domains. By improving the computational efficiency, reducing resource requirements, and enhancing the accuracy of algorithms, researchers can address the challenges posed by complex real-world problems and contribute to advancements in various fields.

This Special Issue aims to bring together the latest research findings in the field of asymmetric and symmetric algorithms optimization, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and promoting advancements in various domains. We encourage researchers to submit their original research papers, comprehensive reviews, research reports, and practical applications related to the following topics, but not limited to:

  • Asymmetric algorithms optimization methods and techniques;
  • Symmetric algorithms optimization methods and techniques;
  • Applications of asymmetric and symmetric algorithms in engineering applications;
  • Applications of asymmetric and symmetric algorithms in data mining and machine learning;
  • Applications of asymmetric and symmetric algorithms in image processing and pattern recognition;
  • Applications of asymmetric and symmetric algorithms in optimization problems;
  • Performance evaluation and comparison of asymmetric and symmetric algorithms;
  • Theoretical research and analysis of asymmetric and symmetric algorithms.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Symmetry is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
