Dear Colleagues,
Carbon-Emission Reduction (CER) with the sustainable development of the Earth environment is one of today’s greatest challenges. Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technology plays an increasingly important role in substantially reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
We are pleased to invite you to submit your paper to Special Issue: “Safety and Risk Management in CCUS: Technologies, Projects and Trends”. This Special Issue of Sustainability focuses on articles and thematic challenges related to the safety and risk management in CCUS technology. The development of safety technologies is undoubtedly an important step in accelerating the implementation of CCUS technology. Without taking into account risk management, CCUS and the further CER for the sustainable development of the environment will not be an achievable goal. The aim of this Special Issue is to bring together contributions aimed at understanding and reducing risk in CCUS.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may inlucde (but are not limited to) the following: risk recognition and assessment, risk management, safety technologies, projects of safety research, and research trend in CCUS full industrial chain.

Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
