Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a common disease affecting 20–30% of the general population in industrialized countries. Allergic inflammation is the key to understanding the management of the disease and its comorbidities, such as conjunctivitis, asthma, etc.

Recent studies have focused on the inflammatory markers that are involved in allergic inflammation and the influence of different pharmacological therapies. Moreover, allergic inflammation is a hallmark feature of these diseases where different pathophysiological phenotypes are involved. Therefore, the identification of biomarkers which would describe the disease phenotype better are necessary, that may influence the precision medicine in AR such is allergen immunotherapy (AIT). Additionally, the quality of life (QoL) is very important to be influenced by those therapies, since QoL is highly affected in patients with moderate–severe persistent AR.

The purpose of this Special Issue is to highlight the importance of correct diagnosis and treatment in patients with AR and to reach some problems from impairment of QoL.

This Special Issue on “Allergic Rhinitis” is open for the publication of clinical and research data.
