Dear Colleagues,
Mobile health (mHealth) monitoring is a rapidly emerging area in the field of digital health, requiring seamless integration of mobile computing and health monitoring via distributed sensors. It exploits implantable, wearable, and ambient technologies to support vital-sign monitoring, care delivery and intervention, and facilitate communication between health care professionals and clients via mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets.
Recent advancements in sensing technologies, low-powered integrated circuits, data processing, and wireless communication have enabled the development of low-cost, miniaturized, lightweight intelligent sensors that can be applied in mHealth monitoring. Moreover, the use of these sensors in recording, tracking, and monitoring vital physiological signs can be greatly enhanced by advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.
The goal of this Special Issue is to bring together scientists, engineers, researchers, and practitioners to share knowledge by publishing high-quality research articles in the areas of intelligent sensing technologies, data analytics, and AI techniques and their applications in mHealth monitoring.
Topics of interest include:
- Sensing technologies for mHealth monitoring.
- Novel application-specific and general AI-based techniques for sensor data analysis and interpretation in mHealth.
- Frameworks for the effective deployment of intelligent sensing technologies for mHealth monitoring.
- Case studies of predictive and personalised health monitoring using intelligent sensors.
Original research and comprehensive review articles will be considered.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been previously published or currently under review by other journals or conferences/symposia/workshops. Papers previously published as part of conference/ workshop proceedings can be considered for publication in the Special Issue provided that they are modified to contain at least 50% new content. Authors of such submissions must clearly indicate how the submitted article extends their prior publication. Moreover, authors must acknowledge their previous paper in the manuscript and resolve any potential copyright issues prior to submission.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
