Dear Colleagues,

Polymer materials are widely used in biomedical, electrochemical, energy storage, and environmental fields, owing to their excellent properties. These advanced applications call for the development of novel polymer materials. Russian scientists and researchers are working together to design pioneering products with superior performance. The advanced research results of these Russian efforts are highly visible in top international magazines and conferences.

This Special Issue aims to showcase the recent progress in polymer science and technology in Russia. We welcome Russian scientists and researchers to submit articles, communications, or reviews. Research topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Polymer synthesis and characterization;
  • Polymer processing;
  • Polymer application;
  • Biobased polymers;
  • Polymer composites and nanocomposites;
  • Polymer physics and mechanics.

A new approach is proposed for simulating binodal and spinodal curves of phase diagrams for binary polymer systems. It is shown that the Flory–Huggins theory makes it possible to predict phase behavior in a wide range of temperatures and concentrations based on limited data on the components’ solubility. The approbation data of the technique are presented in the example of PS–PB and PS–PMMA systems, for which generalized phase diagrams are constructed. Full article
