Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Flame-retardant polymer composites have emerged as critical components in many applications ranging from construction and aerospace to electronics and automotive industries. The technology has evolved from the initial fire-resistant formulations to complex composite structures that incorporate advanced polymers, nanomaterials, and smart technologies. These materials not only offer resistance to ignition but also curb flame propagation, minimizing toxic smoke and ensuring structural integrity under fire exposure.

This Special Issue aims to bring together the latest research, technologies, and strategies in the development of flame-retardant polymer composites and to provide a platform for researchers and experts to share innovative methods, novel materials, and advanced technologies for enhancing polymer flame retardancy. For this Special Issue, full articles and review articles on this topic are welcome for submission.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
