Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Fiber-reinforced polymer composites are highly sought after in a variety of industries, including aviation, automobiles, healthcare, defense, and construction. These materials show great technological and economic feasibility when used in applications that are similar to those of their traditional counterparts. Modern smart and practical technologies are frequently merged, which has increased the use of associated techniques, the quantity of materials, their characterization, and the scope of applicable application domains. This Special Issue examines all the connected disciplines of research and concentrates on the most current developments that signify preparation, characterization, and application of those fiber-reinforced polymer composites. The following factors are given particular attention:

  • Fiber-reinforced composites made from thermoset, thermoplastic, and elastomeric composite materials.
  • Fabrication techniques such as additive manufacturing or other automated fabrication processes.
  • Fiber-reinforced composites with properties such as tensile strength, flexural strength, and impact strength and hardness.
  • Fiber-reinforced composites with durability properties.
  • Characterization studies such as response to heat/cold, moisture, pH, UV, and radiation energies.
  • Optimization studies for scalable applications.
  • Fiber-reinforced composites for different applications, such as aerospace, textile, robotic, infrastructure, or automated technologies.

This Special Issue invites research scientists, engineers, asset managers, and regulatory organizations to promote their scientific and technical achievements in fiber-reinforced polymer composites. Authors are invited to submit their most recent work on this subject as original full articles, communications, or reviews.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
