Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Advances in the treatment of neurological diseases are motivated by improving protocols and developing a progressive understanding of physiopathology with the onset of new therapies. However, the perspective of regenerative medicine represents an extremely interesting and groundbreaking opportunity in the research on central nervous system diseases. The use of stem cells and their derivatives, such as exosomes and secretomes, represents an extraordinary frontier in this area. Despite many years of research and promising results in preclinical experimental settings, there are currently no standardized therapies that are able to protect injured tissue or replace lost functional tissue. Basic and clinical research implementation will be the way to understand the fundamental mechanisms in the field of stem cells and to improve regeneration in neurological diseases.

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the Special Issue, entitled “Stem Cell Applied in Neurologic Disease”

The aims of this Special Issue are to renew interest in these topics and stimulate further research on the use of stem cells for the treatment of neurological diseases. The publication of new original research papers or systematic reviews can offer the opportunity to provide suggestions, new ideas and perspectives for the future development of stem cell therapy.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but not limited to) the following: stem cells applied to stroke and the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerve injury; stem cells applied to neurodegenerative disease (Parkinson, Alzheimer); stem cells and cell therapy for inflammatory disease.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Pharmaceutics is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
