About Muscles
Aims
Muscles (ISSN 2813-0413) is an international and interdisciplinary peer-reviewed open access journal, published quarterly online by MDPI. Muscles publishes articles investigating the molecular and biochemical mechanisms underlying a wide range of muscle pathophysiologies such as development, the regulation of mass and function, aging, metabolism, exercise-induced stress, nutrition, degeneration, dystrophy, and regeneration.
Muscles welcomes the submission of manuscripts, either original research or reviews with an emphasis on describing muscle health, its maintenance, and its interactions with non-muscle cell types and regulatory modulators. Our main focus is on human studies but work in animal models will also be considered.
Scope
Muscles covers all aspects of muscle science, including, but not limited to, nerve and neuromuscular junction pathology, physiology, anatomy, myopathies, muscular dystrophy, other acquired muscle endocrine or immunological disorders, pharmacology, epidemiology, nutrition, sarcopenia, muscle imaging, and other sport-related injuries or muscle metabolic adaptations.
