Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

After the success of the two previous editions of the international meeting Bio.Natural (Bioactive Natural Products Research Meeting) held in 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, and virtually in 2021, the organization announces the third edition of the hybrid event in 2023 (https://ects.ulusofona.pt/noticias/iii-bio-natural-2023-conference/). The III Bio.Natural Meeting (Bioactive Natural Products Research Meeting) will be virtually held on the 13th and 14th of July 2023 (Universidade Lusófona, Lisbon, Portugal). Once again, the meeting aims to be a forum for researchers who are developing projects that explore the multiple applications offered by natural products. Natural products from plants or microorganisms and their biological and pharmacological effects based on people's uses are important as a source of therapeutic agents. Medicinal substances such as extracts or isolated compounds are, thus, valuable tools for drug development or the elucidation of the structural requirements for potential clinical applications. In this Special Issue of Molecules titled “Selected Papers from III Bio.Natural 2023: An Opportunity for Early Career Researchers”, we would like to emphasize the high value of natural products and focus on the following pharmacological aspects:

  • natural products in drug discovery;
  • natural product chemistry;
  • bioactivity of natural products;
  • marine natural products;
  • functional foods and food supplements;
  • other fields related to natural products.
