Prof. Dr. Antoni Torres served as the Editor-in-Chief of Medical Sciences from 2016 to the present. He is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Barcelona and Senior Consultant of the Department of Pulmonology at Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, Spain. He is also a researcher, teacher and clinician in Respiratory Medicine, based in Barcelona, Spain.

Dr. Ignacio Martin-Loeches is a full-time Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at St James's Hospital and Professor at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. He is the chair of the Acute Critical Care Group in the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the elected Chair for research in the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM).
