Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Nature has been the traditional source of new pharmaceuticals. Marine plants, animals, and microbes produce a host of compounds that display potential as pharmaceuticals and merit special attention because of the relatively unexplored biodiversity of the marine compared to the terrestrial environment.

The proposed topic for this Special Issue is broad and we hope to publish works representing various directions of research, including but not limited to a diversity of marine compounds, peptides, and proteins from marine organisms with anti-infective and chemopreventive activities effective in human beings.

This Special Issue invites original research contributions and reviews on compounds, peptides, and proteins extracted from marine organisms (microorganisms, plants and animals) with the potential for use in the prevention or treatment of various infectious diseases (caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses) and cancers and on the development of innovative pharmaceuticals and health supplements.
