Diversity and Ecology

A section of Life (ISSN 2075-1729).

Section Information

Life – Ecological publishes innovative ecological research with a focus towards animal ecology. We encourage papers that make significant advancement in the field by generating insights into ecological principles that extend beyond the focal system. We seek cutting edge perspectives, reviews, and original contributions with an emphasis on the following areas:

  • population ecology
  • community ecology
  • ecosystem ecology
  • animal-animal and animal-plant interactions
  • conservation and global change ecology
  • behavioural ecology
  • physiological ecology

Further, a collection of articles integrating a specific topic is of high interest for Special Issues. Proposals should be submitted to the section Editor.

Reviews and Perspectives. We seek papers on emerging issues in ecology, especially those that integrate ideas and insights across disciplines in ecology. Such articles should provide syntheses of ideas and have the potential to challenge existing paradigms and create new frameworks that will advance our understanding of ecological processes.

Original Research. These papers form the core of our section and represent original research that offers new findings and insights into ecological systems.

Special Issues. These will take the form of a collection of both original research and reviews and perspectives papers that focus on a single topic of high interest. These will be invited submissions and led by a guest editor.
