Astrobiology
A section of Life (ISSN 2075-1729).
Section Information
Papers published in this section fall within the field of astrobiology, which is defined as the study of the origin, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe. The broad focus of this section includes not just life on Earth but also the possible distribution of life elsewhere, as well as constraints such as the habitability of icy moons and exoplanets. Another emphasis of this section is on life detection. What environmental conditions can support life? How can signs of life be recognized and evaluated in missions and observations? We are interested in well-researched rather than highly speculative manuscripts on these and related topics; we also invite other high-quality manuscripts that contribute to astrobiology.
