Land has been accepted for coverage in Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI - Web of Science), starting from Volume 6.

The journal was divided into five topical sections: Land Systems and Global Change, Landscape Ecology, Soil–Sediment–Water Systems, Socio-Economic and Political Aspects of Contemporary and Historical Land Issues, and Urban Contexts and Urban–Rural Interactions.

2020

A new topical section, Land–Climate Interactions, was established in Land journal.

Land announced the 2019 Outstanding Reviewer Award winners: Prof. Dr. Frank Vanclay, Prof. Dr. Volker Beckmann and Dr. Antonio Santoro.

Land has received the new Impact Factor (2020) of 3.395, which ranks 57th out of 125 (Q2) in the category "Environmental Studies (SSCI)".

Land became an affiliated journal of the Landscape Institute (LI).

Five new sections were established in Land: Land, Biodiversity, and Human Wellbeing; Land Environmental and Policy Impact Assessment; Land Innovations – Data and Machine Learning; Water, Energy, Land and Food (WELF) Nexus; Land – Observation and Monitoring

We launched the first virtual conference in November, 2021. The 1st International Electronic Conference on Land: Towards Land System Science will take place virtually on 17–19 May 2022.

Land's CiteScore (2021 Scopus data) was 3.2, which means it is ranked 65/192 (Q2) in "Nature and Landscape Conservation", 161/437 (Q2) in "Ecology", and 55/109 (Q2) in "Global and Planetary Change".

Land has received an increased Impact Factor (2021) of 3.905, which ranks it 56th out of 127 (Q2) in the category of "Environmental Studies (SSCI)".

The year 2022 marked the 10th Anniversary of Land.

2023

Land announced the 2022 Outstanding Reviewer Award winners: Dr. Concetta Cardillo, Dr. Elisabetta Maria Venco, and Dr. Małgorzata Dudzińska.

Land announced the 2022 Influential Female Research in Land System Science Award winners: Prof. Dr. Harini Nagendra and Prof. Dr. Adrienne Grêt-Regamey.

Land's CiteScore (2022 Scopus data) was 3.7, which means it is ranked 68/196 (Q2) in "Nature and Landscape Conservation" and 151/437 (Q2) in "Ecology".
