Recruiting Topical Advisory Panel Members for the Journal of Fungi

The Journal of Fungi (JoF, ISSN: 2309-608X) Editorial Office is pleased to inform you that applications are open for the Topical Advisory Panel. Should you decide to serve on the Topical Advisory Panel, you would be responsible for some of the following tasks, depending on your availability:

  • Providing regular reviews of manuscripts;
  • Periodically leading Special Issues related to your field of research in partnership with a senior researcher within two years of your appointment, as well as proposing detailed strategy plans for the Special Issues;
  • Suggesting new topics and recommending or inviting some other scholars to serve as Guest Editors of these new topics;
  • Working with Editorial Board Members or the Editorial Office to promote high-quality/featured papers;
  • Providing suggestions in specific cases of paper processing which fit your interests;
  • Promoting JoF at conferences that you attend or organize;
  • Nominating authors who are willing to contribute.

To qualify as a Topical Advisory Panel Member, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Have expertise and experience in a field related to mycology;
  • Have completed their Ph.D. in approximately the last 5 years;
  • Have published at least six papers in the last 5 years as a first author or corresponding author;
  • Currently hold an independent research position in academia or a government institute.

Benefits for JoF Topical Advisory Panel Members include the following:

  • Full waiver of the article processing charge (APC) for one paper published in JoF per year in the Special Issues that you supervise, and special discounts (reduction of CHF 200) for any additional papers from your group or your invitations;
  • Travel grants of CHF 500 per year if you lead a successful Special Issue and would like to promote it at conferences that you attend or organize;
  • JoF offers additional sponsorships for conferences organized by Topical Advisory Panel Members.
