Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent decades, surgical management of colorectal cancer has continued to evolve. The strategy of organ function protection and the application of minimally invasive techniques in colorectal surgery has gradually attracted more and more attention. Laparoscopic surgery has been extensively used for the resection of indicated colorectal cancer. Some new techniques, such as robotic technology, single-incision laparoscopic surgery, natural orifice specimen extraction, and transanal total mesorectal excision, have been proposed. It is worth thinking about how to meet the challenges and grasp the direction of technological development in the face of the impact of new techniques and concepts. Meanwhile, some controversies regarding the oncologic safety of these new techniques exist and further study is needed.

We therefore invite colleagues to submit research on novel technologies and concepts of colorectal surgery. Clinical trials on colorectal surgery are also encouraged. Both original articles and comprehensive review papers are welcome.
