Dear Colleagues,
The development of new synthetic methods for the preparation of macrocycles, as well as their applications using macrocyclic compounds, are topics of great interest nowadays. Indeed, macrocycles are employed in several research fields, including theragnostics, food science, catalysis, sensing, materials science, molecular machinery, among other areas of study. This Special Issue, entitled, "Synthesis and Applications of Macrocyclic Compounds", aims to collect research articles, communications and comprehensive reviews (>4000 words) focused on three main topics:
(i) Synthetic methodologies to prepare new macrocycles, or compounds containing macrocycles.
(ii) Development of applications in which macrocycles, or compounds containing macrocycles, play a key role.
(iii) Fundamental studies of different properties of macrocycle-based compounds.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
