Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

A Special Issue on "Emergency Medicine—Challenges and Perspectives" in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health is being organized.

Urgency and emergency medicine are extremely complex, and working in these sectors requires multi-disciplinary knowledge. A variety of patients can be treated in emergency units, such as patients with respiratory symptoms, heart disease, trauma and neurological disorders, among others.

We would like to invite those who have experience in this area to send your studies and work to be included in this Special Issue in order to contribute to the spread of knowledge on this topic. We believe that systematic review studies, clinical and observational trials are of paramount importance in order to elucidate and present new solutions or possibilities for action.

There are important generalities in this area, such as the initial care for critically ill patients, triage, the logic of initial emergency care and its differences with outpatient care and possible tools for emergency care. The importance of how to perform the initial management of sepsis, airway management, oxygen support, non-invasive ventilation and medication management is also highlighted. This Special Issue is open to the subject area of health care and diabetes. The keywords listed below provide an outline of some of the possible areas of interest.
