Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Telemedicine and e-health technologies are effective tools for pediatric care and management. Telemedicine is useful in offering diagnostic therapeutic assistance and individual assistance plans, and in monitoring patient health status, offering the possibility to reduce hospital admissions and to anticipate discharge, with important psycho-social repercussions for children. A special role of health services and technological systems must be also considered in pediatric populations with chronic illnesses and medical fragility to support their multiple health needs. Technological innovation can contribute to the reorganization of health care, supporting innovative models centered on the individual and offering increased access to health services, cost-effectiveness, enhanced educational and preventive opportunities, as well as improved health outcomes with socio-economic benefits. Telehealth may represent a strategic system to invest in children’s health.
This Special Issue of International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH) focuses on the current state of knowledge and experience on telemedicine and e-health in pediatrics as an innovative approach to children’s care. New research papers, narrative and systemic reviews and case reports are welcome to this Issue. Other accepted manuscript types include editorials, methodological papers, position papers, brief reports, and commentaries.
We will accept manuscripts from different disciplines, including pediatrics, pediatric subspecialties, medical informatics, economics sciences, exercise and sports sciences, epidemiology, intervention studies, risk and health impact assessment, and preventive medicine.
