Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

COVID-19 had a significant impact on water, sanitation and hygiene. The pandemic showed the importance of WASH, particularly hand washing and hygiene practices. However, at the same time, COVID-19 highlighted sanitation inequality and challenges in low and middle income countries (LMIC). In LMIC, 1/2 of healthcare facilities lack access to basic water services and over 60% have no safe sanitation. They also lack basic health care waste management services.

This Special Issue on "Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and COVID-19" features high-quality original research and comprehensive reviews from leading scientists in the field. The relevant topics to be discussed in this Issue include, but are not limited to: WASH inequalities, COVID-19 and WASH services, wastewater epidemiology application in LMIC, SDGs, WASH behavior and COVID-19.
