Geomechanics

Section Information
Geomechanics involves the study of the mechanics of soil and rock, and, thus, the two main disciplines of geomechanics include soil mechanics and rock mechanics. Soil mechanics deals with the behavior of soil from small to large scales, whereas rock mechanics deals with issues related to rock mass behavior and characterization. Many aspects of geomechanics overlap and these include, but are not limited to, geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, mining and blasting engineering, geological engineering, underground structures, road and pavement engineering, engineering geophysics, offshore and marine geotechnics, geothermal energy, and railway track geotechnology.
Authors are invited to submit articles to the section of Geosciences. Since our goal is to advance our knowledge of geomechanics, articles addressing interdisciplinary topics of geomechanics are eagerly welcome.
