Dear Colleagues,
As Guest Editors of the Special Issue “Molecular Basis of Mammalian Meiosis”, we would like to invite you to submit reviews, mini reviews, original research articles, and short communications that advance our understanding of the multifaceted fates and pathways during the meiosis of spermatozoa and oocytes. This Special Issue will especially address the biology and molecular basis of mammalian meiosis, covering topics such as first and second meiotic division, pathways that coordinate diploid cells to become haploid to ensure proper fertilization, and also what happens if errors occur during meiosis, for instance, with aneuploidy and polyploidy. This Special Issue also intends to gather knowledge on aging-related impairment of meiosis, especially with regard to the aging oocyte.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Genes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
