Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Since Shannon's paper "A Mathematical Theory of Communication" was published in 1948, information theory has become the basic supporting theory of modern communication technology. In the past few decades, wireless communication technology has gone through the first, second, third, and fourth generations. Now it has entered the 5G era and started the research and exploration of 6G. 6G technology will provide unprecedented communication connectivity, network capacity, and wireless coverage for thousands of intelligent applications and billions of Internet of Things devices. In B5G and 6G technologies, information theory will inevitably continue to play an important role in promoting the evolution of the communication system boundary. In particular, the integration of artificial intelligence and information theory will certainly deepen the innovation of communication theory and technology and open a new era of wireless communication development.

This Special Issue focuses on the information theoretical basis for B5G and 6G, and now solicits contributions from excellent research teams around the world, as well as original research papers, reviews, and opinion reviews. The scope of solicitation includes but is not limited to the following areas:

  • Coding theory and technology for B5G and 6G
  • Communication Theory for B5G and 6G
  • Wireless Communication and Networking Technologies for B5G and 6G
  • Network Information Theory for B5G and 6G
  • Deep Learning for  B5G and 6G Communication Networks
  • Emerging Applications of Information Theory in B5G and 6G

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Entropy is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
