Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Mental health has gained increasing importance in people’s lives as we continue to explore its impact on our physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. We recognise its influence on our behaviour in response to stress, varying circumstances, as well as how we relate to others. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, a prevailing deterioration of mental health has affected individuals and work environments, leading to an increase in demand for mental health services. This has exerted more pressure on an industry with limited funds and resources. Thus, many impacted individuals are facing increasing challenges in accessing timely professional input.

Application of AI has played a key role in transforming many industries. In recent years, the intersection of psychology and AI has attracted much attention. Mental health services have improved the precision and personalisation of care. Moreover, organisational psychology has benefited in facilitation with human resources and staff recruitment processes.

The aim of this Special Issue is to provide an insight into the current state of practice and research in AI and its approach to current challenges in the field of psychology and mental healthcare.
