Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Heterogeneous photocatalysis using semiconducting nanomaterials is regarded as one of the key methods for utilizing solar radiation to carry out useful chemical transformations and convert energy. Photocatalysts play a crucial role for efficient utilization of light in target process. Photocatalytic reaction can also be coupled with application of electricity to achieve the electrocatalytic effect and increase the efficiency of the overall process. Therefore, the design of nanostructured materials and composites with enhanced catalytic activity is important for improving the energy utilization in photoelectrocatalytic processes. This Special Issue on “Nanomaterials for Photo- and Electrocatalytic Processes in Environmental and Energy Applications” is focused on the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials and composites with regard to their application in photo- and electrocatalytic processes for environmental remediation and energy production. This Special Issue is open for the submissions on all types of articles, including research articles, reviews, perspectives, and viewpoints. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Photoelectrocatalysis;
  • Photoelectrochemical properties of nanomaterials;
  • Synthesis and characterization of nanocomposites;
  • Nanomaterials for environmental remediation;
  • Photocatalysts for pollutant degradation;
  • Electrocatalytic oxidation;
