Upcoming MDPI Conferences (2)

21–23 June 2023 Symmetry 2023—The 4th International Conference on Symmetry

Barcelona, Spain

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce that “Symmetry 2023—The 4th International Conference on Symmetry” will be back in person in 2023. The event is supported by MDPI’s open access journal Symmetry and will be held on 21–23 June 2023 in Barcelona, Spain.

As expressed by Hermann Weyl, who was responsible for important progress in the field of symmetry in math and physics: “Symmetry is a fundamental phenomenon in nature and all sciences”. Additionally, paraphrasing Frank Wilczek, “powerful symmetry principles have guided physicists in their quest for nature's fundamental laws”. Although one should add, at the same time, that many of the most interesting situations happen to occur when some fundamental symmetry principle is broken. It thus seems as if nature abhors perfect symmetry.

It is this interplay between symmetry and its breakdown, in the many different domains and situations where they appear, which we want to address in the 4th Symmetry Conference in Barcelona. Specifically, we will foster interaction between scholars working in different fields of science.

We welcome scholars, engineers, students, and non-academic colleagues to join Symmetry 2023, and we kindly ask you to save the date. We aim to make this event a forum for discussion, knowledge exchange, and fruitful interactions among stakeholders working in various symmetry-related fields: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Engineering Science. Both oral and poster contributions are welcome.

We are pleased to announce the availability of awards for postdocs, PhD students, and researchers conducting research in the field of symmetry and who plan to attend Symmetry 2023.

Best Oral Presentation (EUR 500)
Selected by the Scientific Committee after evaluation of all selected talks presented during the conference.

Best Poster (EUR 300)
Selected by the Scientific Committee after evaluation of all posters presented during the conference.

Both awards are sponsored by MDPI's open access journal Symmetry.

We are very enthusiastic about this 4th Symmetry Conference and are relying on you to make it a successful event.

We look forward to meeting you in Barcelona!

15–30 November 2023 The 27th International Electronic Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry

We are pleased to announce that the 27th International Electronic Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry (ECSOC-27), chaired by Dr. Julio A. Seijas, will be held online from 15 to 30 November 2023 at

ECSOC-27 aims to provide leading scientists working in selected fields with a robust common platform on which to share and discuss the latest research and promote the advancement of exciting and rapidly changing research. This online conference will make your presentation accessible to hundreds of researchers worldwide, with active engagement of the audience in question-and-answer sessions and discussion groups that will take place online.

The conference has been divided into five themes. Please submit your articles as soon as possible, indicating which theme best fits your submission.

S1. General Organic Synthesis
S2. Bioorganic, Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry
S3. Microwave Assisted Synthesis
S4. Polymer and Supramolecular Chemistry
S5. Computational Chemistry

During the conference, you can upload papers, posters, and presentations (including videos), comment on other presentations, and engage with fellow scholars in real-time. In this way, the conference offers a novel opportunity to exchange opinions and views within the scholarly community and to discuss the papers and latest research in a discussion forum.

We hope you will be able to join this exciting event, which is organized and sponsored by MDPI, a scholarly open access publisher (, and the journal Molecules (ISSN: 1420-3049, Impact Factor 4.927 (2021)).

Paper Submission Guidelines:

All accepted proceedings papers will be published in one dedicated volume in the MDPI Proceedings journal  Chemistry Proceedings (ISSN 2673-4591). The publication of proceedings papers is free of charge.

For more information about the procedure for submission, peer review, revision, and acceptance of conference proceedings papers, please refer to the section “Instructions for Authors” at

Abstract Submission Deadline: 15th September 2023
Abstract Notification Deadline: 20th September 2023
Full Paper Submission Deadline: 30th September 2023
Conference Time: from 15th to 30th November 2023

We look forward to receiving your research papers and welcoming you to the 27th edition of the e-conference.

Upcoming Partner Conferences (2)

25–29 June 2023 16th International Symposium on Biocatalysis & Biotransformations

La Rochelle, France

The International Symposium on Biocatalysis and Biotransformations (BIOTRANS) organized every two years since 1993 has become a major European event in the field of biocatalysis and biotransformations. The success of previous BIOTRANS editions organized in various European countries and attracting over 600–700 participants is a confirmation of the growing importance and interest of researchers from academic and industrial sectors.

BIOTRANS 2023 will be held in France (La Rochelle) from 25 to 29 June 2023. This 16th edition will be an exceptional opportunity to meet lecturers from worldwide universities and companies, leaders in advanced fields of biocatalysis and biotransformations such as IA for predictive protein structure and reaction, novel enzymes and enzyme engineering, innovative enzymatic processes, and synthetic metabolism.

24–28 September 2023 9th International Conference on Carbon for Energy Storage and Environmental Protection

Budapest, Hungary

We cordially invite you to the next CESEP conference, which aims to bring together scientists, engineers and technologists and intends to provide a forum for discussion on fundamental and technological scientific aspects of carbon applications related to energy storage and environment protection. This conference is expected to stimulate fruitful discussions, new ideas and collaborations between specialists from various domains, including:

  • Advanced carbon materials; novel nanostructured carbons: synthesis and characterisation; simulation and computational methods; in situ and operando studies; demonstrations.
  • Carbon for energy storage and conversion; biomass-based solutions for energy storage and environment protection; supercapacitors; solar energy conversion; fuel cells; carbon in advanced batteries.
  • Carbon for green industries; carbon materials for CO2 conversion; carbon-based catalysts; green chemical applications of carbon.
