Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The aim of this Special Issue is to consolidate the latest research, advancements, and insights into the role of artificial intelligence in breast imaging. It will encompass a range of topics including, but not limited to, machine learning algorithms, deep learning techniques in mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and tomosynthesis, AI in risk prediction models, and the ethical implications of AI in clinical practice. The scope of this Special Issue also includes the exploration of AI's impact on workflow optimization, diagnostic accuracy, and patient outcomes, and he challenges in implementing AI tools in breast imaging practice.

The Special Issue will seek contributions that offer the following:

  • Original research on AI algorithms that enhance the detection and characterization of breast pathology.
  • Discussions of the integration of AI in current breast imaging modalities, highlighting improvements and outcomes.
  • Reviews on the current state and future perspectives of AI applications in breast imaging.
  • Examinations of the ethical, legal, and social implications of AI in the clinical setting, particularly in breast imaging.
  • Analyses of the economic impact and cost-effectiveness of AI implementation in breast cancer screening and diagnosis.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
