Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Special Issue "Hypothalamic Hormones and Cancer" explores the intricate relationship between hypothalamic hormones and cancer development. This collection of articles delves into the fundamental role played by hypothalamic hormones, such as gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and somatostatin, in modulating tumor growth and progression. The featured research sheds light on the complex mechanisms through which these hormones interact with cancer cells, influencing cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and metastasis. Furthermore, the Special Issue highlights the potential therapeutic applications of targeting hypothalamic hormones in cancer treatment, including GnRH analogs for estrogen-dependent tumors and somatostatin analogs for neuroendocrine cancers. By advancing our understanding of the interplay between hypothalamic hormones and cancer, this Special Issue offers valuable insights that may lead to novel diagnostic tools and targeted therapies for various types of malignancies.
