Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
A Special Issue of Cancers focused on brain metastasis will explore evolving strategies to improve long-term survival and quality of life of patients with spread of cancer to the brain. Over the past decade, outcome has improved for patients with brain metastasis with the aggressive management of intracranial disease with radiosurgery and surgery in the context of the concurrent use of improved systemic therapies including immune-oncology drugs, molecularly targeted agents, and cytotoxic chemotherapy. A multi-disciplinary selection of articles will describe optimal current approaches and pathways to better results through improving imaging detection and assessment of response; optimal use of local therapy to balance risk, tumor control, and quality of life; and the use of systemic pharmaceuticals to improve both brain control and survival.
