The XIX International Conference on Building Pathology and Constructions Repair (CINPAR 2023)

The XIX International Conference on Building Pathology and Constructions Repair (CINPAR 2023) represents an important opportunity for the acquisition of new knowledge, and for the exchange of experiences in the fields related to the rehabilitation and strengthening of structures.

For specialists in pathology and rehabilitation of structures, it is essential to have knowledge about the following: the technology of the materials used (stone, adobe, wood, steel, concrete, or other); geometric characteristics of the structures; possible tests of physical and mechanical characterization of the materials; behavior of structural elements; and solutions for rehabilitation and reinforcement.

Recently, the evolution of knowledge in the domains of pathology and rehabilitation of buildings has shown a significant impulse, due to the growing awareness of the various players in the construction sector, as well as the emergence of new materials, techniques, and solutions.

Recent statistics show that investment in the rehabilitation sector continues to show an increasing trend. CINPAR 2023 represents an important opportunity for the acquisition of new knowledge, and for the exchange of experiences in the fields related to the rehabilitation and strengthening of structures.

CINPAR is one of the most important conferences on building pathology and rehabilitation with international recognition. Since 2003, CINPAR has represented an important opportunity for the acquisition of new knowledge, and for the exchange of experiences in fields related to the rehabilitation and strengthening of structures. The past editions were hosted by Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, Chile, Italy, and Turkey. Now, in 2023, it is time for the charming, dynamic, and cultural Sobral to be the host.

Objectives:

  • To disseminate and discuss methods of inspection of structures and characterization of materials;
  • To present and discuss the most frequent pathologies in general construction;
  • To know and analyze the main causes of pathologies;
  • To disseminate the most used materials in the work of rehabilitation and reinforcement of existing structures;
  • To promote the exchange of experiences in the fields of the study of pathologies and the rehabilitation and strengthening of structures.

Aim and Scope:
CINPAR covers, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  • Hygrothermal behavior of buildings;
  • Structural pathologies: stone, wood, mortar, and concrete pathologies;
  • Diagnosis techniques: diagnostic methodological approach, traditional and innovative techniques, non-destructive methodologies;
  • Building pathology vs. Durability;
  • Asset and maintenance management: costs resulting from poor quality, maintenance and its deterioration;
  • Rehabilitation of the constructed heritage: strategies and incentives, diagnostic and design methodologies, the appropriately of existing regulations for rehabilitation, restoration of public spaces, adaptive rehabilitation, rehabilitation technologies;
  • Energy efficiency;
  • Building materials: ecology, nanotechnology, and recent trends;
  • Applications and limitations of novel building technologies;
  • Structural health monitoring;
  • Sustainability and new materials for rehabilitation;
  • Infrastructure and urban scale studies;
  • Case studies;
  • Building information modeling;
  • Building performance simulation.
