Special Issue in Nanomaterials: Catalytic Properties of Composite Nanostructure Materials
This Special Issue deals with nanotechnological aspects of devices for the development of selective portable sensor probes with functional nanocomposite materials on portable substrates. Nanocomposites have been developed for a variety of sensor applications, ranging from chemicals to biochemicals, for the safety of environmental and healthcare fields. It will also focus on a particular field of sensor applications of functionalized carbon, nanostructure, nanoscale, and nanocomposite materials as sensor devices by using electrochemical approaches. This Special Issue aims to publish state-of-the-art original articles and comprehensive reviews covering nanocomposite-material-based chemicals and biosensors from the perspectives of their design, fabrication, characterization, analysis, investigation, and/or applications. Although the emphasis is on practical applications, fundamental concepts and practical studies of functional nanocomposite materials are also considered. I hope this selective special topic proves insightful and that the contributions amassed in this collection capture its conventional essence and lead to innovative routes of preparation, improvement, and continuous changes with multidimensional approaches in nano- and biotechnological areas. This collection focuses on cutting-edge nanosciences and biotechnology of functional nanocomposite materials. It is expected that the collection will serve as a guide to the preparation of novel doped or undoped materials with special properties, functions, characterization, and potential applications. It will also pave the path toward promising possibilities for solutions to environmental, biomedical, and healthcare problems. I hope that this issue contributes to facilitating an appealing research atmosphere that provides valuable resources for the next generations.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
