Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Marine shrimp farming has grown tremendously over the past 20 years. Despite this growth, shrimp farming has experienced different outbreaks due to diseases, mainly those caused by different types of viruses. In recent years, researchers and producers have been looking for solutions to guarantee the production of shrimp in captivity. Closed systems that work with low or no water exchange such as the BFT system (Biofloc Technology System) have proven to be a good biosecure alternative for shrimp production. Therefore, the Special Issue “Marine Shrimp BFT Culture” aims to publish articles that gather important information about the culture of shrimp in a biofloc system (BFT) to increase the knowledge about this biosecure farming activity and to transfer technology to shrimp farming industry.
