Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Over the last few years, there have been significant developments in equipment capable of providing researchers and technicians with the knowledge necessary to face scientific studies and engineering interventions. The use of mechanical, electronic, and photonics instrumentations today represents an indispensable element in correctly addressing the scientific approach of the problems to be addressed. In the geophysical field, it was thus possible to know and appropriately define the territory especially in the presence of particular geomorphological aspects. In the field of geotechnical engineering, the use of modern on-site equipment, to be associated with laboratory equipment, has enabled problems such as the earthquake hazards, amplification phenomena, landsliding, soil liquefaction, zoning maps to be adequately addressed. In the field of structural engineering, it was possible to acquire knowledge relating to the quality of the construction materials used to evaluate their mechanical characteristics with the aim of being able to define a static and dynamic assessment of the behavior of civil engineering constructions and a planning of rehabilitation or seismic strengthening interventions.
