Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The idea of smart urban development is aimed at the use of advanced technologies, infrastructure and modern solutions in the service of its inhabitants. It is creating a city in a way that best suits its inhabitants, while reducing costs and striving for the sustainable development of urban structures, including transport, construction, infrastructure, economy and services, so that inhabitants can live better and more comfortably in a favorable urban space.

The use of information and communication technologies allows an effective diagnosis of problems that occur in urban areas, and at the same time, can be a crucial source of information for residents. The digitization of urban space, IoT or ICT is necessary for the existence of cities and their inhabitants, which results in obtaining big data collections, which consequently requires the continuous development of Computing and Artificial Intelligence.

This Special Issue will be dedicated to new perspectives Development of Smart Communities and Urban Planning. The subjects that will be discussed in this Special Issue will focus not only on modern methods and technologies but also on the verification of the behaviors of inhabitants in urban spaces.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
