Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The onset of a disease may have an acoustic offprint that can be perceived auditorily by human clinical experts. The presence of an acoustic consequence of a disease enables signal processing procedures to replicate the human clinical assessment and allows the transfer of assessment capabilities to contexts where human assessment expertise is not available.

This Special Issue aims to bring together state-of-the-art techniques in acoustic screening and assessment procedures to form a new knowledge base on the acoustic consequences of disease-related changes in speech and voice production.

We welcome contributions aimed at the detection of disease onset, monitoring progress in the disease, or the effect of treatments across all diseases that have an effect on speech or voice production.
