Aeronautics

A section of Aerospace (ISSN 2226-4310).

Section Information

Aeronautics is a core section of the journal. It includes a wide range of topics covering scientific, engineering and applied aspects of interest for research and educational institutions, industry and corresponding agencies. The Aeronautics section publishes original papers, review articles and short notes related to fundamental and applied results, linked to potential applications that are related to research, design, manufacture, test facilities, instrumentation, operations, control and maintenance of aircraft. While a major focus is on completed studies and works-in-progress, researchers are encouraged to share their ideas and emerging approaches with the aeronautic community through the communications format. More specifically, subject areas suitable for publication in the Aeronautics section include, but are not strictly limited to, the following fields:

  • Aero Acoustics
  • Aerodynamics, including Subsonic, Transonic, Supersonic and Hypersonic Flows
  • Aeroelasticity
  • Aero Optics
  • Aero Propulsion and Aero Engine, including Airbreathing, Electric and Hybrid Propulsion concepts
  • Aircraft, including Avionics, Operation, Atmospheric Flight Control and Maintenance
  • Boundary Layers and Flow-Surface Interaction
  • Combustion and Chemical Kinetics
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Fluid Dynamics, including Electro- and Magneto- Hydrodynamics
  • Material Science and Structural Analysis, with applications in Aerospace Engineering
  • Measurements and Diagnostics related to Atmospheric Flight and Ground Testing
  • Multidisciplinary Design Optimization
  • Plasmas and Lasers for Flow and Combustion Control
  • Sense and Avoid Technology
  • Shock Waves, including Shock-Shock and Shock-Boundary Layer Interaction
  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Drones
  • Wind Tunnels, Ground Testing Facilities and Instrumentation
