Non-Coding RNA Webinar | RNA Localization Regulation: From Mechanism to Phenotype, Held on 20 June 2023

On 20 June 2023, MDPI and the journal Non-Coding RNA (ISSN: 2311-553X) organized a webinar RNA Localization Regulation: From Mechanism to Phenotype. The Non-Coding RNA webinar is open to all who contribute to research on the topic of non-coding transcripts or are passionate about learning about this exciting and competitive research area. The webinar speakers presented new findings from their standard or translational research.

The subcellular localization of lncRNAs can potentially indicate their functions. For instance, lncRNAs located in the nucleus may be involved in epigenetic/transcriptional regulation, while those localized in the cytosol might impact translation processes. Determining the subcellular localization of each lncRNA is crucial and can be achieved through imaging at the single-molecule level. In this webinar, Dr. Dumbovic presented her research on unveiling the subcellular localization of lncRNAs using a technique called single-molecule RNA fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). By combining this method with biochemical, cellular, developmental, and molecular biological approaches, Dr. Dumbovic nicely showcased the molecular functions of lncRNAs.

Please note that this webinar is associated with a Special Issue in Non-Coding RNA entitled “Non-Coding RNAs and Phase Separation Phenomena”. The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2023.
