Publisher’s Note: Arthropoda—An Open Access, International Journal on Arthropods Research

MDPI has been publishing Insects (ISSN: 2075-4450) [1] since 2010. In 2021, the open access journal Entomology (ISSN: 2813-0502) [2] was launched, with the idea of complementing the well-established journal Insects with a journal addressing more basic and fundamental entomology studies. An article [3] has been published dealing with molecular information on Triatoma boliviana through the description of its mitogenome.
Following careful consideration and constructive discussions with the scientific community involved, however, we re-assessed this project and refocused the scope of this newest journal in order to more clearly distinguish it from the other available platforms, and, consequently, decided to change the title of the journal to Arthropoda (ISSN: 2813-3323) [4].
Arthropoda is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published semi-annually online by MDPI. The journal focuses on the study of arthropods, including insects, but with particular focus on fundamental or applied research concerning non-insect arthropods, such as arachnids, myriapods, crustaceans, and hexapods.
The main goal of the journal Arthropoda is to publish high-quality research focusing on arthropod systematics and phylogeny, evolution, palaeoentomology, biodiversity, and conservation, as well as arthropod interactions with human activities and the biosphere. Cross-cutting contributions, such as molecular genetics, behaviour, neuroscience, biomechanics, biochemistry, and developmental biology will also be welcome.
We welcome the broad research community with expertise in the above topics to contribute to the development of this platform into a successful and well-established journal.
We will maintain the same fast and rigorous peer review process for this journal that you have grown accustomed to through our other publications. I hope you will enjoy publishing with us.
