The recent consensus regarding children’s and adolescents’ health and development is that focus should not only be devoted to what sounds serious now but that our perspective should extend to considering the roots, where a healthy childhood and adolescence is essential to achieving full potential as an adult—i.e., the past mirrors the future.
Future (ISSN: 2813-2882) [1] is an international peer-reviewed journal published online with a particular focus on the research areas of growth and development and school health. The covered disciplines include, but not limited to, maternal care, sexual and reproductive medicine, child and adolescent health, mental health and health policy. Future is dedicated to enhancing the value of research and helping researchers, health providers, families, and policymakers through an improved understanding of the health and development of children and adolescents in the future.
The scope of this journal includes, but is not limited, to the following key areas:
  • Growth and development;
  • Diet and nutrients;
  • Nutritional and environmental epidemiology;
  • Health-related behaviors and intervention;
  • School health promotion policies and practices;
  • Child health and care;
  • Adolescent health and wellbeing;

Short Biography of Author

Future 01 00001 i001Jun Ma, PhD, is Professor and director of Peking University Institute of Children and Adolescents Health. Adjunct director of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention School/Child Health Center; Chairman of School Health Professional Committee of National Health Standards Committee; Chairman of Children’s Health Branch of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association; Chairman of School Health Supervision Committee of China Health Supervision Association. Chairman of Teaching Steering Committee of the National Primary and Secondary School Health Education of the Ministry of Education; The first batch of member of the Health China Action Expert Advisory Committee and the director of the Preparation and Approval Committee of Children’s and School Health Terms of the National Public Health and Preventive Medicine Terminology Preparation Committee. As the first member, he won the 11th Soong Ching Ling Pediatric Medicine Award and the first prize of Science and Technology Award of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association in 2019. His representative scientific research projects such as health public welfare industry research projects, national natural science foundation, ministries and commissions projects. His academic teaching publications include: School Health Supervision (second editor-in-chief, People’s Health Publishing House), Children and Adolescents Hygiene (Practical Edition) (second editor-in-chief, Science Publishing House) and Children and Adolescents Hygiene (8th Edition) (deputy editor-in-chief, People’s Health Publishing House).
