Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The main question addressed by the research is the use of SRI in an educational building. The topic is very relevant as SRI was recently introduced by EC (2018). Although the theme is relevant and current, the article needs to be revised and well framed.
1. The structure of the article, for example point 3 – Materials and Methods, must be a case study, with a description of the building as well as the detailed calculation methodology.Different methodologies can be apply so it is important to detail and justify the chosen methodology.
2. SRI - 26%; 29%; 67%  SRI may not accurately reflect the comfort level - what has to be done?
3. The bibliographic references lost the [ ].

Review for “Evaluation of Smart Readiness Indicator for Educational Buildings” for possible publication in Buildings

The paper has several merits, but it can be enhanced using the following recommendations:

1)     In the abstract, please mention the approach/tools/methods, the original aspects of your approach.

2)     In the introduction, please mention the contribution of your approach.

3)     In section 2, please add some references regarding buildings’ flexibility in smart cities: https://doi.org/10.3390/su13041736

4)     Please emphasise the drawbacks of previous studies in comparison with your proposal.

5)     Please emphasise more on the RES integration at the local sites and energy efficiency measures for existing and new buildings. Consider different types of buildings and their usage.

6)     Please provide more research and practical implications.
