Dear Authors,

This is a very wonderful story, combining in-situ observations and reanalysis products derived from satellites to analyze the horizontal spatial scale characteristics of the North Brazil Current rings and the vertical small-scale ocean dynamics. This work is important for understanding the problems of oceanography in the region. I have only the following two small suggestions that can further increase the quality of the manuscript.

1.      Introduction, Lines 59-90: This narrative does not fit here, it should be moved to Materials and Methods

2.      It is recommended to add a research area and NBC rings-related location and current map in the Introduction.
