The authors have undertaken an interesting topic of research in the field of tourism. Studying the different levels of responsibility in tourism is an important issue. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between responsible tourism perception, place attachment, environmental awareness, and support for sustainable tourism development. What was original in the research - the moderator role of environmental awareness in the effect of destination belonging on supporting sustainable tourism development. The hypotheses were verified in the research. The weakness of the work is the study covering only one region of Turkey. It is difficult to generalize conclusions in this case. However, the research represents a very good preliminary study for broader research in the future. Regional research is equally important.

The abstract includes information important for understanding the content of the paper. The methodology is generally clearly defined. Statistical methods were used. Figures and tables are corresponding. The references reflect the topicality of the article. The literature review is good. Results and findings were adequately reported. The conclusions are clear but very synthetic. No separate discussion, but in individual parts of the work there are references to literature and elements of discussion.

 

Remarks:

-      -  supplement the methodology with an indication of the quantitative methods used (names of these methods)

-    -   the conclusions should clearly indicate the contribution of the authors to the literature and the contribution to economic practice - the second element is missing;

The paper has interesting topic and there is an important contribution from this study. The background of the study was well-provided. However, the research problem should be addressed more clearly in terms of the "problem" and the seriousness of the problem that this study aims to solve. 

More details about the selection of the items of the measurement should be addressed whether the selected sources of the items were "good" measures. 

The hypotheses were appropriately developed. 

The data collection processs was clearly explained. Data anlaysis and details were well-provided. 

The rest of the paper was fine, except the part of practical contribution that the author may try to consider what are other groups of stakeholders may get the benefits from the findings and how they should support the development of responsible tourism.

The research presented in the manuscript is interesting, however the novelty is not very well emphasized. I do recommend to better emphasize the gap in teh literature that the research intends to fill. In rest the manuscript is well written. A few point to consider:

- Please check the entire manuscript and provide up-to-date references. For examples the statement “the impact of tourism on local environments and communities is a growing concern” has a reference from 1972 which is very old & it may or may not reveal the reality anymore. If such references are considered relevant than please reformulate according to the year of reference. 

Adding the hypotheses on the proposed model (Figure 1) would facilitate the reading/ understanding.

How were the data collected? On-line? In-person?

It is mentioned how many items were excluded and the reason but how many items were in total in the questionnaire.

Findings should be separated from methodology in Section 4. Results.

The topic of this paper is interesting.

Some graphs are quite pale and with spilled letters. They should be more readable.

Correct and fit the figures into the paper frames.

The conclusion is more general than specifically addressed. This part must be completely reworked since it has no clear conclusions and no implications.

Authors should include some more literature about local people's perception of responsible tourism in their research so that the paper can have reference research and conclusions.
